Learning About Castles in P2
P2 have been busy finding out about castles, their features and what they were used for in the past. The children learned about parts of a castle such as towers, walls and gates, and discussed who lived there and how castles were protected.
Working in small groups, the children designed and built their own castles using large construction blocks. This activity encouraged excellent teamwork, cooperation and communication as they shared ideas and worked together to bring their designs to life.
The children especially enjoyed dressing up as princesses who lived in the castles and knights who protected them. This imaginative play helped bring their learning to life and inspired lots of creative storytelling.
The highlight for many was taking the learning outdoors and building their castles in the lovely sunshine, making the experience even more enjoyable and memorable.
